Sunday Post
This weekend was a fantastic break from the day-to-day grind and I'm looking forward to next weekend just as much, if not more. I was able to spend time with some friends that I haven't seen in quite a while; that made for a great start to the weekend! Today I celebrated an early Thanksgiving with one side of my family and I had a great time catching up with everyone. Next weekend we will have another get together and I am looking forward to spending even more time with family and friends. I hope everyone else had an amazing weekend too!

Wednesday's Post
Well today has been fairly laid back and still pretty darn cold. But that's alright because even though it's pretty rough weather outside, I really enjoy the winter season! Everyone is brought together by holiday season celebrations and that far out weighs any bad weather. Another bonus from all of this wonderful white powder was the snow day that we had yesterday! I know that's not great on our course load, but it was a fantastic mid-week break that I think everyone enjoyed.

Tuesday's Post
I really enjoyed reading through some of our plays during class on Monday. It was interesting to hear about what topics other students had decided to work on. Plus, I think we all had a great time being a part of each others plays! I am definitely looking forward to listening to more plays tomorrow; unless we happen to have another snow day that is. Either way, the plays have been pretty fun so far and I look forward to finishing out this project!

2nd post of the week!
This week has been pretty busy and we got our first substantial snow on campus! It's definitely becoming more stressful as the end of the semester continues to close in on us. I think that the play project should be interesting when it comes time to present, even though personally I'm not a huge fan of plays. However, I think it'll be pretty fun and it's getting us that much closer to the end of the semester. Now hopefully this weekend will be a good time to relax and of course work on homework.

First post of the week
Monday was a pretty normal class day as we went over all of our argumentative essays. I think that the peer revisions will be useful when it comes time to type up our final drafts. So far I have enjoyed writing about a topic that I already have quite a thorough background in. The sources weren't too hard to find, and I used some of the tips from the source checklist to verify them. Overall this has been an interesting project to work on and I look forward to seeing what my final draft will turn out to look like.

In Monday's class we participated in an argument activity, which I thought was quite interesting. It's amazing to see what emotions and viewpoints can come from such a simple and fictional activity. I thought it was quite useful because it helped to show the class what type of information is needed when trying to make a strong argument. I picked out my topic for my argumentative essay and I am rather excited to work on it; mainly because I have a strong background in the field and I always enjoy writing about topics that should be important from a public perspective.

Post for Wednesday's Class
This week was filled with a lot of class work and even more homework. I was definitely looking forward to coming home for the weekend and spending time with my family. So far I haven't done much of my homework, but I know I have to finish it this weekend. But quite frankly, I really don't like wasting my weekends on homework. However, that's just one of the many beauties of this wonderful thing known as college. I guess that's my mini rant for this week, I'll see you all on Monday!

Post one for this week
This Monday we discussed the end of project two and began to discuss our next project. I think that the packet we went over contained useful information, but I think we should have done something that involved the class more in order to really make the information sink in. Other than that, I thought the topics that we discussed were interesting and I believe it will be helpful when we are writing our argumentative essays. I look forward to discussing conspiracy theories on Wednesday, it will be quite interesting to see what topic everyone has chosen to bring to class.

Last weeks post for Wednesday
As convenient as the internet is, I really dislike having online work that is mentioned at the beginning of the year and is never brought up again after that(my other classes mainly). Nonetheless, this blog is simple and easy and like many others; I forget about it almost every single week. It's a fun idea, but it's something that adds a little bit of stress every Friday or Saturday when I remember that I didn't do my blog posts.
Don't get me wrong, I really do enjoy assignments like this! However, sometimes the internet just tends to drive me a little bit crazy.

Last weeks post for Monday
Last Monday we went over some writing assignments and that seemed like a pretty normal day. However, once we reached the closing minutes of the class we discovered that we would not have class on Wednesday and that we would have multiple revised essays due the following week. The not having class on Wednesday was helpful, but I would suggest that you make some adjustments for revision meetings in the future. I found it somewhat helpful, but it wasted too much time while we were waiting for our session. As far as the essays go, three papers aren't a big deal when it comes to revising... Except for the fact that this assignment landed on Homecoming weekend. So that created some unnecessary stress, but overall I was able to manage it with a little less sleep this past weekend.

Monday Class Post
This Monday we did a lot of discussing about all of our current essay projects. I look forward to working on and revising these papers, even though it's going to be quite the task. I enjoyed the activity where we got to decide on what theme we would have chosen for other student's papers. I think that type of "criticism" is beneficial to everyone in the class. I definitely think it's going to be a busy couple of weeks with all of these papers to work on, however, I think it will be a good experience to go through this kind of revising as a class.

1st Blog of the Week
So far it's only Tuesday and this week has already been quite interesting to say the least. Monday was pretty average, I got drenched on the way to class and received quite a bit of homework. But the real kicker came when I stayed up until 4 a.m. working on a sociology essay, that was a fantastic time. However, today has gone well so far; the weather is fairly nice and I have time to take a nap before my two and a half hour lecture tonight! More then anything, I am looking forward to this weekend because it's going to be an amazing time spent with some even better people!

Hump Day Review
This Wednesday's class was very interesting when it came to learning about how to go about writing different types of "descriptive" essays. I really liked that we went over multiple examples as a class so that we all would have a good idea of what you're looking for. We talked about not summarizing in essays and I found that difficult in the movie essay; since you basically have to do some summarizing in order for the paper to make sense. However, I liked that we went over different ways to avoid doing things like summarizing. Overall, I thought it was a productive day and I look forward to writing the essay about the song of our choosing.

Family, Friends, and the Weekend!
Today I had a sociology exam and lets just say I am now more than ready for the weekend to be here. I get to go home and see my family and I am beyond excited. As much as I love it here at WMU, it's going to be really nice to have a little break from everything. Another amazing part is that we are throwing a surprise party for one of my family members who just finished her fight with cancer and is now in remission!! It's going to be a phenomenal weekend with friends and family and I wouldn't have it any other way. Making memories with my family is something that I will always hold near and dear to my heart. I hope that you all have an amazing weekend as well! I will see you all tomorrow, and hopefully it's a little bit warmer as well!

Thursday post... On a Friday!
I know that a late post is not a good thing, but why make things negative? This week's Wednesday class was very interesting. I learned quite a bit about themes and how they each play an individual role within a given story. I enjoyed working in the groups and I think that the lessons were intriguing and fun to learn about. I think the essay is going to be a fun project and I really like the fact that we get to choose what movie to use for the essay. I look forward to sharing my work with the class and I will see you all next week!
Have a great weekend!

It's only Tuesday?
I got done with my classes today and I realized that it's only Tuesday... However, that's not a huge deal since I have some great plans for this weekend. I never really know what to write on these Tuesday blog posts. I hope the rest of you that are in my class have better inspiration than mine. But either way, I do think that these blogs are a great idea for an English class such as ours. It gives each student the opportunity to share their own individual opinions and ideas in an open and inviting environment. I really hope that my Thursday blog is more interesting then this one, which I think it will be. I hope you all have a great week and I will see all of you tomorrow!

What I learned this week?
This week I learned that there are many different ways to characterize someone within a story, whether it be the narrator or characters. I learned that the setting and mood of a story can have an extremely influential impact on the way that the story is told. I think that going through the different pieces as a class really helped us to express our individual views and ideas. This weekend I will be working on quite a few different projects for a couple of classes. For this class I will be working on an essay about a place that is special to me. I think this is a great topic because it allows us to really express ourselves as individuals. It will be interesting to see who or what everyone writes about in their essays. So I guess that's it since I should probably start working on my essay. Have a great weekend everybody!

This post is LATE...
So far today has been fairly boring, but since it's Monday that shouldn't surprise anyone! It was pretty chilly when I went to my first class this morning and it's supposed to rain while I walk to this class, so hopefully the weatherman was wrong today. Hopefully today's class is as interesting and funny as the other days have been. And of course, I plan on actually blogging on time for the rest of the semester! I'll see you all in class tonight, hopefully it's a dry walk!
